Masaaki Kobashi
1976 Born in Okayama, Japan.
1998~ - Studied under Fumio Kuraishi (contemporary ceramist and artist, professor at Kagawa University). Studied teapot making and began making and studying kyusu.
2002~ - Studied under Takatori Kanzan (a bizen artist). He studied the techniques of Bizen ceramics.
2009~ - Started making teapots from Bizen pottery.

Masaaki Kobashi masterfully works and uses the power of fire to create works of art. He focuses only on tea pottery, kyusu teapots, classical type teapots and also hohini.
He uses well-known methods in his work such as Hidasuki, Goma ash glaze, Haikaburi, Sangiri black and grey pattern.
