90's Yongchun Fo Shou Oolong Box - Weight: 25g

An aged oolong from the 1990s, originating from the Yongchun region of Fujian. This is a Fo Shou, or “Buddha’s Hand.” It is a specific tea cultivar characterized by large leaves; when fresh, it has a slightly citrusy, pear-like, and honey-like aroma. 

However, a tea aged to this extent tastes completely different from a freshly processed tea. 

The leaves are beautifully processed—lightly curled, ranging in color from light brown to black, with a glossy appearance and an intense aroma combining notes of dried plums, ripe fruit, medicinal herbs, and the so-called Chen Xiang—an aged aroma.

The infusion is amber in color; the tea’s flavor is full-bodied and smooth, combining notes of dried plums and medicinal herbs with a very interesting sweet-and-sour aftertaste that lingers in your mouth for a long time. It is a complex and soothing tea, as is sometimes the case with teas of this age.  

Since this is a long-aged specialty, we have a very limited quantity available.

Brewing: 100 ml, 5–7 g, 98°C, 60 seconds for the first infusion; subsequent infusions 30–40 seconds, depending on personal preference; starting with the fourth infusion, it’s best to gradually increase the steeping time.
