Arakai Estate Spring Flush Green Reserve 2021/22 - 50g - Weight: 50g

First Flush from Arakai Estate, Bellthorpe, Queensland, located at 580m above sea level, the tea was harvested in October 2021.
 
The spring harvest takes place in Australia in October/November. Arakai Estate is 1 hectare in size and grows the Japanese cultivars Sayamakaori, Yabukita, Meirokyu, Yutakamidori, Fushin & Okumidori.
 
I offer a Special Reserve version which has been made to 10kg and is from the shaded parts of the plantation.
 
The aroma of the sous leaf is sweet, fresh, slightly floral. The infusion is fresh, clean, green-yellow in colour.
The taste is very unique, medium-bodied. A lovely mix of fresh green tea reminiscent of the rather floral highland oolongs from Taiwan, with a subtle sweetness and a hint of sheng puerh in the background, perhaps a hint of Tie Guan Yin.
 
Another unique tea that, by combining Japanese cultivars and Taiwanese processing techniques, adds another sliver to the tea flavour spectrum. 
 

Preparation per 150ml - 5g, 75-85°C, 40-50s., according to the taste preferences of each individual. 

Multi-pour, lasts 3-4 infusions. Infusions can be extended slightly afterwards.
