Chiang Rai Black Assamica 2023 - 30g

 

Black tea from the Giang Rai region, i.e. from northern Thailand, from the well-known area where old tea trees used for puerh production grow, the so-called Golden Triangle. The trees are often in hard-to-reach locations and are hand-picked from wild tea trees. The altitude of the hand-picked trees is around 700-950 m, the cultivar Assamica and the age of the Gushu trees, the age of the tree is reported by the producer to be well beyond the 200 year base (Gushu = 200 years or more). This is the spring harvest of 2023.
 
The tea is full-bodied and complex in flavor, yet still smooth, combining sweet notes of ripe fruit, hints of cocoa and caramel, with a sweet and slightly spicy aftertaste.
