Darjeeling Takdah Red Gaba Oolong SF2026 - 50g

Summer harvest from a garden in the Takdah region—the name “Takdah” is derived from the local language of the Lepcha ethnic group and means “Place of Tigers.” This area was likely a region where tigers roamed freely, and that is where its name comes from, as there is not much information available in the records about why it was named this way.

The garden is located at an elevation of 800–1,900 meters, making this a high-mountain tea. Furthermore, it is a small garden jointly tended by 40 families in the area, so I’m glad we can continue to support them in this endeavor. These are truly just small batches of very high-quality teas. 

Unusually, this is a GABA oolong, which isn’t a classic tea from this region. However, it’s clear that this garden crafts its teas with love and beautiful artisanal skill, resulting in a very lovely GABA oolong. 

The tea has a full-bodied, warming flavor, combining dark honey, forest fruits, mountain herbs, and a creamy sweetness. As is typical of GABA teas, it’s very easy to drink and has a calming effect.

Brewing: 150ml, 3g, 90°C, 1,5-2,5 min. depending on taste preferences.

Other brewing:

Gongfu: - 150ml, 6g, 95C, first brewing 40-60s, next brewings 20-30s. 

Western Brewing: - 5g, 0.5l water, 90C, 2-3 mins.
