A fresh spring harvest from gardens in the Takdah region—the name Takdah is derived from the local language of the Lepcha ethnic group and means “Place of Tigers.” T
This tea has been processed into a red oolong, a semi-green tea with high oxidation, bordering on black tea. It is a very unusual tea made from first flush leaves in Darjeeling, which makes it all the more interesting. I like it when producers experiment and have fun searching for new flavors.
The leaves are processed into slightly opened, dark-colored pearls with a proportion of golden tips.
The aroma of the dry leaves is fruity, fresh, and chocolatey-sweet.
The tea has a full, fresh flavor combining ripe stone fruits, cocoa, and a honeyed sweetness.
I consider this tea a very nice-quality morning daily drinker. If you’re looking for a darker tea with cocoa notes that combine with fruity flavors, this might be just right for you.
