Dibrugarh Exotic Assam FF 2/2025 Oolong

First Flush of Assam, from Dibrugarh District. The tea was hand harvested in February 2025 from Camellia sinensis var. assamica. at a lower altitude of around 150m.

It is a large-leaf tea, very delicately processed into a fine, slender leaf ranging in colour from light green to almost black. It is not only in appearance that it resembles Dan Cong.

The aroma of the dry leaf is fresh, sweet, with vegetal elements.

The flavour is medium to full-bodied. The taste is very fresh, slightly drinkable, combining the flavours of pear, fire roasted pumpkin, a hint of grasses, spices.

Very unusual Assam, I put it in 30g increments, may you find the courage for this unusual experience :).

Really a very nice example of what a First Flush from Assam can look like, and a slightly oxidised oolong version at that.

Brewing:

Gong-fu: 5g, 150ml, 90C, 30-40s, other infusions basically poured immediately, up to 20s, towards the end it is possible to extend the time interval according to taste preferences.

Western Brewing: 2-3g, 300ml, 90C, 3 min, can also do multiple infusions.
