A delicious Vietnamese tea Gushu MaoCha, or li Sheng, which was harvested in the Dien Bien area in September 2021. The Dien Bien area borders Yunnan and Laos. The trees are situated at an altitude of around 1400 m, the tea is processed only in limited quantities and is harvested in the form of a single bud and leaf.
The leaves undergo a short wilting process, then it is briefly dried to fix the flavours for 20-30 minutes and hand-rolled, then sun-dried.
This is a very fresh tea with a full, smooth body, with a sweet aftertaste. It tastes of tobacco leaf combined with tangerine, a hint of spice, woodland herbs. The tobacco flavour has a pleasant character and complements this unique tea perfectly. The first of the smoky teas where I enjoy a smoky note, just like a good whisky :).
Brewing: 100ml, 4-5g, 95°C, 15-20s min. first and second infusion, then extend the interval, according to taste, lasts many infusions.
