Fengqing Zhong Guo Hong 2025
.
Black tea from the spring harvest 3-4/2025, from the mountainous region of Fengqing. The bud plus one leaf were used, which was then rolled into long needles.
The tea is dried indoors for 8 hours at a temperature of around 25°C, with the aim of reducing the moisture content to 60-64% and initiating the transformation of grassy tones into floral ones. This is followed by hand rolling for 70-90 minutes, which disrupts the cell membranes and activates oxidation, which lasts for 4 hours. This is followed by drying on charcoal for 1 hour, which stops oxidation and preserves the honey sweetness and shiny black appearance of the tea.
The aroma of the dry leaf is a combination of rose, tropical fruit, and honey tones. The infusion is amber in color.
The tea has a medium-bodied flavor with a smooth texture. It combines the taste of ripe plums, floral tones, hints of cane sugar, and dark chocolate.
