Guishan Wuyi Oolong 2018 - 50g

This tea is hand-picked in the Geishan area, Nantou County, at an altitude of around 1100 m above sea level.

The shrubs that produce this tea are direct descendants of Wuyi trees brought to Taiwan from the Fujian region of China and are a very rare cultivar in Taiwan. It is an ideal cultivar for making highly oxidised oolongs, as exemplified by this tea, which will become even higher quality over time.

The leaf in many shades of brown with a slight hint of dark green. The infusion is full-bodied, reddish-brown in colour with an aroma combining spices, roasted nuts and fruity notes. The tea gradually releases its flavour and is suitable for the preparation of gongfu cha.

The garden itself is in the process of being approved for the organic label, the whole process takes about 3 years, but we already know that no pesticides are used.

Another beautiful tea from Formosa! If you're a lover of more oxidized oolongs like me, give it a try.

Preparation per 100ml - Gong fu Cha - 5-6g, 98°C, 15s first and second infusion, then extend the interval.
