Kyusu by master Gyokuryu Umehara is decorated by Shudei engraving method, the author of the engravings is master Seigetsu. These teapots are made from fine-grained Tokoname Shudei clay with a high iron content, which has a softening effect on the resulting tea, similar to Banko yaki.
Made by master potter Umehara Jiro, who makes ceramics under the name Gyokuryu Umehara, this kyusu comes with the original kiribako (桐箱 - wooden paulownia box), which is signed and sealed by the artist. The teapot is from a series of three engraved teapots with a marine motif.

Before use: rinse the teapot in hot water and allow to dry completely before first use
Maintenance: do not use detergents, dishwasher. Clean by hand, with clean water, without chemicals. Do not clean with clean detergents. The teapot should be left to dry after each use. Ideally, use the teapot for the specific type of tea for which it will always be used.
