Hong Shui Dung Ti Oolong - 50g

The main area producing this tea is the village of Lugu, Nantou County. This hilly region has a humid climate with an average temperature of around 25 °C. The frequent rains and the altitude of around 800 m above sea level make it a very suitable area for tea cultivation. Interestingly, almost 70% of the population of Lugo works in the tea industry and the income from tea is therefore the main income for the local people. Hong Shui oolong is a type of traditional Dong Ding oolong with higher oxidation, the so-called "red water" oolong, which is short, strongly roasted.

Making traditional Dong Ding oolong is a much more complicated process compared to the lightly oxidized Dong Ding that are so popular nowadays. This is also why many young farmers in Taiwan are abandoning the traditional method of production and taking the easier route of producing fragrant, lightly oxidised teas that have a simpler and shorter production process.

Our Hong Shui is hand-picked. A bud with two or three leaves is used. It is oxidized to 40% and then heavily roasted. It is a tea with an unforgettable, sweet fruity taste, with a hint of old plum and roasted undertones. It has a premium, delicate fruity aroma.

This is a treat for oolong lovers and not just oolong drinkers. The tea is shipped several times a year and is therefore always guaranteed a fresh, up-to-date harvest.

Brewing: 100 ml, 4-5g of tea, 98C water, first pour 30-40s, then extend the time interval. Lasts 4-6 infusions, depending on preparation method.
