Unique oolong from Java. Indonesia produces mostly lower quality teas, but this tea is a beautiful exception and I don't think anything better can be found in this region.

The leaves were hand-harvested in late January from the Taiwanese cultivar TRES.27, which is grown at an altitude of 1500m in the Ciwidey area of West Java. 

A really beautifully crafted tea with a proportion of downy tips, the leaf colour goes from yellow-green to dark green to black. The dry leaf has a very exotic and fresh spring aroma, combined with the scent of sweet nuts.

The word pasundan translates as an outlook on life, or a way of life, an order of life, and the scent of this tea should remind one of the beauty of Sunda nature. 

It is a lightly oxidised and very fresh oolong with an exotic aroma of orchids and jasmine and a light body.

The taste of the tea is very aromatic, sweet, with floral notes and also hints of sweet raisin, exotic fruits and a very smooth texture. The aftertaste is fruity, sweet and long-lasting.

Brewing in gaiwan - 150ml:

6g, 85-90C, 60s first pour. Then 30-45s according to personal preference. Lasts 5-7 infusions depending on the preparation method.
