A beautiful Guinomi cup by master Kazuya Nakamura, a younger master who is a successor to a famous lineage and belongs to a new generation of respected artisans. His grandfather was the legendary Nakamura Rokuro (1914–2004), who was renowned for his mastery of yohen effects—that is, fire effects. In Japan, he was nicknamed “the king, or deity, of sake vessels.”

This small 90-ml cup is intended for sake, but there’s no reason why we can’t also use it for tea ceremonies.

The cup comes in a traditional Tomobako box. You will receive the piece shown in the photos.

Before use: just rinse, no further care is necessary.

Maintenance: do not use cleaning agents or a dishwasher. Clean by hand with clean water, without chemicals. The chawan should be left to dry after each use.
