Miyazaki Yamanami Red Ripe - 50g
Miyazaki Yamanami Red Ripe
.
Fresh Yamanami red tea from the Miyazaki region of Japan. Harvested on 12.7.2024.
The Yamanami cultivar was bred at the Miyazaki Research Center from Chinese tea tree seeds from Hubei Province. It was registered in 1965. It is a cultivar with a very distinctive aroma and taste with hints of camphor and sweet azuki beans. However, these characteristics make it very suitable for red teas :).
Interestingly processed leaf, a combination of very fragile leaves of different sizes. You really don't know what to expect from the leaf :).
A garden that operates in a purely natural way and is dedicated to the production of specialties that are always available in limited quantities. They make their own fertilizer by fermenting grass and as they say, they are a bit "unique, fun and crazy"! And that's exactly what their teas are and that's exactly what I'm looking for :).
When you smell the dry leaf, you smell the ripe fruit, the freshness.
The infusion is clear, bright, almost red in colour. The palate is unexpectedly full, combining ripe cherries, berries, a touch of exotic woods and spices. Withstands many infusions, a hearty tea.
Another tea specialty in a wide range of Japanese red teas, this one probably surprised the most in the end :).

Brewing: 150ml, 6g, 98C, first infusion 40-55s, second infusion 20-30s, third infusion 20-30s, extend further infusions according to personal preference, lasts 6-8 infusions :).
