Ohbukudani Asamushi Sencha 2026
.
Asamushi sencha made from the Yabukita cultivar, one of the most popular varieties in our selection. It was harvested on May 10, 2026, and this tea was not shaded. The tea comes from the Ohbuku Mountain area, which was the first place where tea cultivation began in the Uji region.
Asamushi means “lightly steamed” sencha. This method is used for high-quality teas, and the raw leaves, called Namaha, are steamed for a short period of 20 to 35 seconds.
These teas are characterized by a lighter-colored infusion, which can highlight the flavor of the specific cultivar and its distinctive aroma.
Beautifully processed leaves, with a very fresh aroma featuring fruity and mountainous notes.
The infusion is a rather light greenish color, but the flavor offers fresh tones, mountainous freshness, and hints of mountain flowers; the tea has moderate umami and is very refreshing.
