Japanese kyusu teapot by master Reiko - Koie Hiroshi (1955 - )

A beautifully crafted kyusu; the master created both the teapot itself and the "floral" decoration, which perfectly and naturally complements the final appearance of the piece.

Reiko - Koie Hiroshi

1955: Born in Tokoname, Aichi Prefecture.

1973: Graduated from Tokoname High School, majoring in ceramic art.

1975: Completed advanced studies in the ceramic industry at a school in Seto.

1978: He achieved his first major success when he was selected for the 9th annual prestigious Tokai Traditional Kōgei Exhibition. His works were subsequently selected for this exhibition 42 times in a row. That same year, he also succeeded for the first time at the All-Japan Traditional Crafts Exhibition.

Recognition: For his lifelong precision craftsmanship, he received official certification as a bearer of Tokoname City’s Intangible Cultural Heritage. He is a long-standing member of the Federation of Japanese Artisans.

Before use: before first use, rinse the teapot in hot water and let it dry completely.

Maintenance: do not use cleaning agents or a dishwasher. Clean by hand with clean water, without chemicals. The teapot must be left to dry after each use. Ideally, designate the teapot for a specific type of tea for which it will always be used.
