Shan Lin Xi is a famous growing area in Nantou County, although often overshadowed by the better-known AliShan area. This tea was harvested from the Sancengping garden, which is also the source of the delicious Long Fen Xia oolong. Most of the time the leaves from this garden are used to make high altitude oolongs, so it's always a pleasure to be able to get black tea from that production as well.

The Shan lin Xi tea gardens are located at an altitude of 800-2000 meters above sea level. Some are in hard-to-reach places where climbing equipment is required. Often these areas are surrounded by fir trees, which also affect the resulting taste and freshness of the tea.

Specifically, this tea comes from 1400m above sea level and was hand-harvested in mid-June from the Chin Xin cultivar.

The ruby infusion has a full, balanced, sweet flavor with hints of vanilla, a combination of peach and cherry, exotic fruits, and a light floral quality. Delicious, smooth and long aftertaste.

It is a tea that is also suitable for ageing, as we have already tried with the top black teas from Taiwan.

Brewing: 100ml, 4-5g, 98°C, 20-30s, then extend the time interval.
