Shan Lin Xi Hong Cha 2023 - 50g

Shan Lin Xi is a famous growing area in Nantou County, although often overshadowed by the better-known AliShan area. This tea was harvested from the Sancengping garden, which is also the source of the delicious Long Fen Xia oolong. Most of the time the leaves from this garden are used to make high altitude oolongs, so it is always a pleasure to be able to source black tea from this production as well, and it is a continuation of the previous supply of this tea.

The Shan lin Xi tea gardens are located at an altitude of 800-2000m above sea level. Some are in hard-to-reach places where climbing equipment is required. Often these areas are surrounded by fir trees, which also affect the resulting taste and freshness of the tea.

Specifically, the Tencho high altitude tea comes from 1400m above sea level and was hand-harvested in July 2023 from the Chin Xin cultivar.

The reddish-red infusion has a full, balanced, sweetish flavor with hints of vanilla, a combination of peach and cherry, exotic fruit, and a light florality. Excellent, smooth and long aftertaste.
