A high-mountain dark oolong from the renowned Shan Lin Xi region in Nantou County. The tea was hand-picked in November 2025 at an altitude of 1,200–1,300 meters. It is a Chin Xin cultivar with a high oxidation level of 70–80% and no roasting. This year’s harvest is truly exceptional.

The tea is beautifully processed into very fine brown-black beads, as is customary with Taiwanese oolongs, and it smells of a combination of ripe fruit and wild honey. With these teas, it is advisable to rinse them before the first infusion to allow the tea to awaken, open up slightly, and release its sweet aroma.

The tea’s flavor is fruity, predominantly cherry and peach, with a hint of vanilla, alpine meadow flowers, and wild honey.

This year’s Hong Oolong from the Shan Lin Xi region is truly of a very high quality; I highly recommend it.

Brewing: 150 ml, 6 g, 98°C, initial rinse, first infusion 60 seconds, subsequent infusions 60 seconds, or longer as desired, depending on taste preferences. It yields 5 or more infusions.
