The author of Shiboridashi is Michal Koczor - Oyuceramics. It is a wood-fired ceramic with Shino glaze. Shino glaze is a traditional Japanese glaze with a high feldspar content, which has cream to orange colour highlights or blushes. These glazes were developed in Japan, spun on a wheel. Shiboridashi is inspired by the aesthetics of Japanese ceramics.
Literally translated, Shiboridashi (絞り出し) means "to squeeze," and therefore Shiboridashi are known for "squeezing" the natural umami from shaded Japanese teas, specifically gyokuro and kabusecha, as well as premium sencha. They are also very popular outside of Japan and are used for black teas, oolongs, white teas and more.
The wood firing produces original, unbreakable patterns.
