Shincha from the Yamakai cultivar, harvested on May 3, 2026; the tea was shaded for 7 days.
A beautifully processed first spring harvest from a garden in the Harayama area of Wazuka. The aroma of the dry leaves is fresh and mountainous, with a slight sweetness reminiscent of white peaches.
Yamakai is a very interesting cultivar, with a flavor profile ranging from fresh mountain flowers to fruity notes of muscat grapes and apricots, featuring a light umami and a pleasant, sweet aftertaste.
