Japanese Kyusu teapot with side grip by master Shoryu, who was born in 1945 and is still creating. The Yuteki Tenmoku glaze originally came from tea bowls that were used in the mountainous region of Tianmu, in the Zhejiang province of China during the Kamakura period (1185 - 1333). The name Yuteki literally means "drop of oil" in translation, and the appearance comes from the oily spots that appear on the surface of the glaze.
