Taisuke Shiraiwa Yohen Kyusu - 170ml
.
Kyusu by master Shiraiwa Taisuke, born in 1985 and a great exception in a partially declining Japanese tradition. He was a student of the famous Tokonam master Kinishi Yohei. By agreement with the master, a few left-handed teapots were included in the firing, which made me very happy.
He is a specialist in Kyushu teapots fired in Anagama kilns, which are wood kilns with a long firing time, at least 48h firing. Then they create effects called Yôhen, which create decors and effects that are created randomly in the kiln and therefore cannot be repeated. Each piece is therefore a non-repeatable original and cannot be reproduced. The teapots by this master are really fine, delicate, light and precisely crafted. He uses Tokoname clay as a base. The teapot also has a special grip due to its size, see photo.
Another piece to the puzzle of my tea pottery offer. A unique piece that is impressive and will grace the collection of the adventurous tea enthusiast :). Packaged in a signed Paulovnia wood box.
