.
Sun-dried black tea - shai hong originating from the Hoang Lien Son mountain range in northern Vietnam, specifically from the mountainous region of Lao Cai, close to the Chinese border.
The altitude of manual harvesting is an impressive 2,200 meters and above. Harvested from old trees reaching heights of 15-20 meters. This is a pure high-mountain tea with an unmistakable character. The leaves come from tea plants that do not belong to the Sinensis family, a wild mountain variety with leaves ranging in color from purple and red to dark green.
Beautifully processed dry leaves with a proportion of tips. Sweet, wild aroma.
The taste of the tea is very delicate, fresh, and pure. It combines exotic fruits, peaches, forest honey, and an unusual sweet-sourness coming from the wild tea plant.
The tea has very good aging potential, so I will definitely set some aside for later tasting.
The finest red tea from Vietnam so far.
