Jinshu Gaiwan White Oyster Shell - 110ml

Gaiwan by Master Jinshu - Seiji Ito. It is unusual, but Master Jinshu also makes gaiwans, and they are excellent, decorated with Mogake. This method was developed in the 19th century. Before firing, the teapot is coated with Amamo seaweed, and during firing in the kiln, a reaction occurs between the minerals in the seaweed and the surface of the teapot. The result is a unique “burnt” pattern, see photo. This may vary slightly on each teapot, as they are originals.

The gaiwan has a volume of 110 ml.

Before use: rinse the teapot in hot water and let it dry completely before using it for the first time

Maintenance: do not use detergents, dishwasher. Clean by hand, with clean water, no chemicals. Do not clean with clean detergents. The teapot should be left to dry after each use. Ideally, specify the teapot for the specific type of tea for which it will always be used.
