MingJian Bailu "Dong Ding Roast" Gaba 2024

This is a gaba oolong from the Ming Jian area of Nantou County. The TTES.17 Bai Lu cultivar is used. The tea has been roasted several times in the Dong Ding Competition style, i.e., multi-stage roasting. This was done by a master who has won awards at the Lugu LGTTS Dong Ding competition.

“Oxygenation” occurs in a nitrogen-rich atmosphere, thanks to which some substances in the tea are converted into so-called GABA elements. GABA oolong is one of the healthiest oolongs, with the highest content of antioxidants, including catechins, flavonoids, and polyphenols. However, in order to include GABA in the name of the tea, it must contain at least 150mg/100g of tea.

The tea offers an orange-gold infusion with a creamy taste reminiscent of a combination of ripe fruit, nuts, and cocoa. The roasting is really well balanced and elevates this tea to a much higher level, complementing the flavor profile without overpowering it.

Brewing for 150 ml:

Gong Fu Cha - 5-7g of tea, water at 98°C, rinse, first infusion 50-60 seconds, subsequent infusions 30-40 seconds. Lasts for 5 or more infusions.
