Shizuoka Koushun Summer White 2024
.
Great news, the first white tea from Japan on offer. The tea comes from the summer harvest from the Shizuoka area and the leaves come from the Koushun cultivar.
Beautifully processed leaves see photos. The aroma of the dry leaf is very fresh and exotic.
The taste is full, fresh, floral-fruity, unexpected and surprisingly playful. The flowers combine with a fruity flavour combining ripe pear, yellow melon, maybe mango. A very refreshing and fun drink.
I can only recommend it, a fine and unique tea that was made in limited quantities. I would love to taste it in a few years, but I don't think I will :)..

Brewing 150ml - ideally 6g, 90-95°C, 50-60s first infusion, then 20-30s for subsequent infusions, add time once you want a more hearty taste.
Will definitely last 6 or more infusions, a very hearty tea.
