Wushe High Mountain Black 2025
.
High mountain tea from the Wushe area, Nantou. The tea was harvested at an altitude of 1200-1250m from the Chin Xin cultivar. The harvest took place in June 2025 and was, of course, done by hand. The garden is managed according to Nature Farming principles (organic without certification).
The beautifully processed leaves offer a pleasant, sweet aroma combining fruit and exotic woods.
The taste of the tea is really full-bodied, combining ripe fruits such as figs, raisins, and lychees. Black teas from Taiwan are often lighter, medium-bodied, but this is a really nice representative of high-mountain black teas with a dense, full body and a long-lasting fruity sweet aftertaste.
It is a young tea, but its character slightly reminds me of Da-ye black from Zuo Ruyu, and I can imagine that it will mature in this direction. If possible, I will buy a few more kilograms for stock.
