Another oolong from the master Zuo Ruyu. This time tea from the I-Lan region, from an altitude of 600m from Taiwan's native tea tree.

The tea is heavily oxidized roasted many times over a period of 2 years. Zuo Ruyu strives to make original teas and there is no doubt about it. 

Now 11 years old, this aged Rock Oolong once again stands out with its character and flavour. I put these teas in the brandy category myself :).

The aroma of the dry leaf is fruity and roasty, fresh, intense.

The taste of the tea is clean, combining mature roastiness, raisins, fresh citrus with a slight sweetness in the first infusions, mineral notes typical of native Taiwan cultivars, but not pronounced.

Gradually, the fruity acidity fades and the tea transitions purely into roasted and mineral notes.

It is an aged tea that is close in character to the roasted oolongs of earlier times. It is not a tea for everyone or for beginners.

The tea will last up to 6 infusions, depending on the method of preparation. It is suitable for further aging. The stated shelf life is 09/2053.

Brewing per 100 ml:
Gong Fu Cha - 4g tea, 98C water, rinse, first pour 40s, 2-6 infusions of 30-40s each, according to personal preference.
I recommend really small volumes, 150ml maximum.
