High mountain black tea from Java. Indonesia produces mostly lower quality teas, but this tea is a beautiful exception and I don't think anything better than this master's production can be found in this region.

The leaves were hand-harvested in late January from the Taiwanese cultivar TRES.27, which is grown at an altitude of 1500m in the Ciwidey area of West Java. 

A beautifully crafted tea. Large, full leaf. The dry leaf has a cane-sweet, creamy aroma.

The flavour is medium-bodied, aromatic, creamy-sweet, with honey-floral notes. The aftertaste is sweet, long-lasting. 

Another in a line of top quality teas from Java. Character-wise, it goes towards the black teas from Japan.

Brewing in gaiwan - 150ml:

6g, 95C, 60s first infusion. 30-45s thereafter according to personal preference. Lasts 5-7 infusions depending on preparation method.
