Japanese classic teapot by Master Koshin by Kato Tadaomi (1944-2024)

Marble Seaweed pattern comes from seaweed, using seaweed from the Chita Peninsula area of Japan. This pattern began to be used in Japan in the 1800s.

These teapots are 3x fired. The first firing for the red clay teapot itself, the second firing to create the marble pattern using seaweed, the third firing in a reducing atmosphere to achieve a near black final color. The result is a very elegant combination of black and red for these unique teapots.

The handle of the teapot is polished, while the "body" of the teapot has a texture of fine sand called "Pine Tree Peel".

A beautiful, collectible piece. Each piece is unique and differs in the pattern of the seaweed.

Dimensions:

Height including lid: 9 cm

Diameter of teapot: 9,5cm

Volume: 200 ml(with leaves approx. 180 ml)

Before use: rinse the teapot in hot water and allow to dry completely before first use.

Maintenance: do not use detergents, dishwasher. Clean by hand, with clean water, without chemicals. Do not clean with clean detergents. The teapot should be left to dry after each use. Ideally, specify the teapot for the specific type of tea for which it will always be used.
