Ohbukudani Asamushi Sencha Shaded 2025 - 50g
.
Asamushi sencha from the Yabukita cultivar, which is one of the most popular cultivars in our range. Harvested in June 2025, this tea was shaded for 10 days, which enhances its umami sweetness and beautifully rounds out the overall flavor profile. The tea comes from the Ohbuku mountain area, which is the first area where tea began to be grown in the Uji region.
Asamushi means lightly steamed - light steamed sencha. This method is used for high-quality teas, and the raw leaves, called Namaha, are steamed for a short period of 20 to 35 seconds.
These teas are characterized by a lighter infusion and the flavor of the cultivar and its specific aroma can be emphasized.
Beautifully processed leaves and a very fresh aroma with a slightly sweeter and more delicate scent than the unshaded version.
The infusion is a lighter greenish color, offering a pleasantly balanced freshness, more pronounced umami, and vegetal tones. Overall, it has a more delicate flavor profile than the unshaded version. Both teas are very good for comparing the impact of shading on the final flavor of the tea.
