A vintage chawan from the Hagidono Kiln in the Hagi-yaki style. Estimated to be around 30 years old.

Hagi ware (Hagi-yaki) is traditional Japanese pottery from the Hagi region, prized for its delicate, natural glazes and characteristic cracks (kannyū), which become more pronounced over time with use—especially during the tea ceremony.

Before use: just rinse, no further care is necessary.

Maintenance: do not use cleaning agents or a dishwasher. Clean by hand with clean water, without chemicals. The chawan should be left to dry after each use.
